How Quotes Are Planned
Photos, the load, locations, access, timing, and requested help let us assess the job. Quotes are free. These shared policies explain what is included and how the job is agreed.
- Assessment & Pricing
- Send photos, an item list, every address, and access details. Smaller jobs can normally be assessed from photos or a phone conversation; larger jobs may need a site visit or walkthrough. Pricing is quote-only, normally fixed-price, with no minimum charge for one-off jobs. Load, labour, distance, access, parking, waiting, and planned stops or trips are factored into your quote; any special hourly exception is agreed. Taxes are shown. Removal facility fees and applicable mattress charges are included; unexpected or omitted facility-cost differences for the quoted job are absorbed by us. Recurring business runs require monthly renewal and an agreed minimum commitment.
- Booking, Payment & Changes
- Your booking is confirmed once the quote is approved and the date is finalised. Quotes and revisions require your approval through our software or by email before the agreed work proceeds. Deposits are only required for longer or higher-cost jobs, with amounts decided per quote and due before the job; smaller jobs do not require one. The remaining balance is due on completion. Cash and e-transfer are accepted, with credit and debit card payments through our online system. Cancellation and rescheduling are handled case by case; email as soon as possible to discuss fees or deposit arrangements. If Haul Aboard needs to cancel or reschedule, your deposit is refunded unless you accept a future date. Recurring business runs can have special schedule terms agreed before booking.
- Handling & Protection
- Our owners and employees handle all lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading, normally with two to three staff and more as needed. Transport placement or drop-off-only service is agreed in the quote. Moving blankets, straps, stretch wrap, and floor and doorway protection as needed are included for transport. Full or partial packing and unpacking are available, with agreed labour and materials included. Furniture disassembly, reassembly, and new furniture assembly are chargeable. For removals, indoor or curbside collection and floor and doorway protection as needed are included. Stairs, heavy items, and difficult access are assessed case by case. Changed conditions are discussed with you and any revised quote requires approval; for junk removal, we can usually proceed at the agreed price after notifying you of access differences.
- Timing & Communication
- All services cover Metro Vancouver, with longer-distance jobs considered case by case. Evenings, weekends, short-notice jobs, and same-day pickups depend on the schedule. All services use the same booking software with our most up-to-date availability. Online booking is coming soon on this site; email us for now. We check our inbox roughly hourly and reply within 24 hours. Include receiving windows, seller availability, return pickups, and deadlines so we can assess the route. Recurring business runs and reserved windows require monthly renewal and an agreed minimum commitment.
- Removal & Destinations
- Customers separate items and bag or box loose contents before removal; crew sorting, bagging, or boxing is available for a fee. Furniture dismantling is charged in your quote, and collection-area cleanup is included. See Junk Removal for accepted items and restrictions. We prefer to donate usable items and recycle items that cannot be donated. Our team chooses destinations, checks acceptance, and can choose alternatives within the agreed job if a facility declines an item. Outcomes depend on facility acceptance. Package accepted special items safely and label their contents. Donation receipts can be arranged; disposal receipts and ordinary drop-off records are exceptional.
- Completion & Records
- We provide invoices to all customers. For belongings being moved, we take before-and-after photos and may upload them to the customer portal. Item-count checks, recipient signatures, photos, and proof of delivery are standard for business runs. Donation receipts can be arranged, while disposal receipts and ordinary drop-off records are exceptional. For storage cleanouts, we assist with facility handover as much as possible; the customer completes final sign-off. Share any site-specific record requirements before booking.
Before Pickup Day
Use the agreed plan to prepare. Tell us about changes or tasks that still need clarification.
- Identify the Agreed Load. Clearly separate what stays, what moves, and what needs removal. Let us know about anything added or changed.
- Sort Items for Junk Removal. Sort items before collection, or request our paid sorting service. Tell us about furniture dismantling so it can be charged in your quote.
- Check Access at Every Stop. Share building or facility rules, loading hours, parking, and any access changes. Customers arrange any required elevator bookings, loading bays, and parking permits.
- Share Handover Details. Explain who will release and receive the items and how authorised access will be arranged. Unattended access can be arranged; complex arrangements require you or an authorised representative to be present.
- Confirm Preparation Needs. If you're packing yourself, close and label boxes. For junk removal, appliances must be disconnected and drained before collection. Ask about wrapping, dismantling, or other preparation needs before assuming these tasks are included.
- Prepare Your Personal Belongings. For transport jobs, prepare as much as you can within the agreed plan; we can assist with larger items. Keep personal belongings such as bags with you where possible. If you request their transport, we keep them in a separate case or bag.
- Check the Job Details. Review the agreed scope, destinations, timing, and charges. Raise any remaining questions before pickup.
